# As a mining company, we are supportive of starting this ESG journey but concerned our inaugural score may not fully reflect the positive work we are doing.

Digbee’s mission is to encourage the communication and evaluation of positive initiatives in the mining sector with the goal of reducing risk and enhancing investor and stakeholder confidence.

ESG is a journey, as such the direction of travel is significantly more relevant than a single score.

Publication of scores is not mandatory and is at the discretion of the company disclosing. However, score publication is strongly encouraged. Some companies withhold inaugural submission scores so that they can implement remedial actions and demonstrate an improvement in their subsequent submissions before choosing to publish all scores.
